Basic Function

To produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies

Responsibilities
  1. Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). 
  2. Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock. 
  3. Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. 
  4. Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.  
  5. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces. 
  6. Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. 
  7. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. 
  8. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. 
  9. Maintains equipment, keeps machines and surrounding areas clean and free of debris.
  10. Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. 
  11. Other tasks as requested.

Basic Function

To be responsible for the daily set up and operation of the press. 

Responsibilities
  1. Set up and operate Hydraulic presses for established work.
  2. Select correct tooling for the given job task with set up documents or leaders assistance.
  3. Load, install and correctly set up dies as required.
  4. Ability to prepare and run die forming operations using all features of the presses / controllers.
  5. Must have a full understanding of print reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished stampings.
  6. Thorough understanding of blank development lay out.
  7. Ability to work well with others.
  8. Work in an efficient and timely manner according to project timing.
  9. Keep work area, including machine surface clean at all times. 
  10. Work with Material Handler to make sure material for each job is on schedule and in the proper location.
  11. Work scheduled hours and report to work on time each day.
  12. Other duties as requested.
Skills

  • Must possess the ability to operate cranes, tape measures and calipers, hand tools and torch.
  • Must be able to read and understand specifications, job orders, Bill of Materials, and work instructions.

Basic Function

To perform inspections utilizing the Coordinate Measurement Machines, Romer / Faro laser scanner arms with the ability to operate and set-up as well as programming.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  1. Must be responsible for inspecting parts according to customer requirements and  specifications.
  2. Ability to program a CMM, run existing programs as well as develop, edit and test programs.
  3. Inspect, test, and measure parts, components and materials using analytical equipment and gauges 
  4. Assist with quality procedures, documents and records for completeness and accuracy for laser buy off and final inspection report.
  5. Responsible for compiling Customer-specified reports with analysis – Must be proficient in Microsoft excel and word.
  6. Report findings to supervisor and take appropriate action.
  7. Other duties when requested.
Skills & Qualifications 
  • Have solid understanding of PCDMIS
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Coordinate Systems.
  • Must possess the ability to use height gage, calipers, micrometers and hand tools.
  • Must be able to interpret blue prints including GD&T.
  • Must be able to read and understand specifications, job orders, Bill of Materials, and work instructions.
  • Ability to communicate quality non-conformances verbally and effectively present information to supervisor, co-workers and management.
  • Must have knowledge/experience with measurement systems, variable gages, measurement scales, angle measurement instruments, calibration systems, blue prints and engineer drawings.

  • Proficient in CMM Software as well as Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

Basic Function

To be responsible for the nightly set up and operations of the press room. 

Leader Function

  1. Attend afternoon project line-up meetings as needed. 
  2. Direct subordinates on nightly job requirements. 
  3. Meet nightly line-up quotas. 
  4. Monitor subordinates as needed. 

Responsibilities

  1. Set up and operate hydraulic and mechanical presses for schedule work. 
  2. Select correct tooling for the job task with set up documents. 
  3. Load, install and correctly set up the dies required. 
  4. Ability to prepare and run complex forming operations. Complex programming using all features of the stamping presses. 
  5. Must have a full understanding of print reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part. 
  6. Through understanding of blank development lay out. 
  7. Ability to train less experienced operators. 
  8. Ability to support in two- and three-peice tool design. 
  9. Work in an efficiect and timely manner to producequality stampings.
  10. Keep work area, including machine surface clean at all times.
  11. Work with shipping to make sure material for each job is received and in the proper location. 
  12. Work in conjections with the laser department to ensure rough trim and blank developments are processed as needed.

Basic Function

Use hand-welding equipment (Spot welder, Mig and Tig welder) to weld or join metal components to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

Responsibilities 

  1. Operates safety equipment and uses safe work habits while performing his/her job function. 
  2. Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions. 
  3. Ignites torches or starts power supplies and strikes arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits. 
  4. Detects faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notifies supervisors. 
  5. Clamps, holds, tack-weld, hear-bend, grinds or bolts components parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. 
  6. Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas trngsten arc, gas metal arc and flux-cored arc, plasma arc and shielded metal arc, resitance welding and submerged arc welding. 
  7. Monitors the fitting, burning and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of materials. 
  8. Examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. 
  9. Recognizes, set up and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment. 
  10. Will lay out, position, align and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers and rulers. 
  11. Other duties as requied.
